Skills Development Initiatives
We collaborate with partners and organizations to offer skill development initiatives that go beyond traditional trading skills. These programs may include computer literacy, digital marketing, and other relevant skills.

Financial Inclusion Programs
MITA explores avenues to promote financial inclusion among informal traders, including access to financial services, micro-loans, and other support mechanisms.

Merafong Informal Traders Association (MITA) Manufacturers Program:
MITA's Manufacturers Program is designed to empower and support local informal manufacturers in the Merafong community. The program focuses on capacity building through training, market access to connect manufacturers with potential customers, and business support through mentorship. MITA advocates for the interests of informal manufacturers and organizes networking events to foster connections. The program covers a diverse range of informal manufacturers, including artisans crafting jewelry, textiles, baskets, woodcraft, ceramics, leather goods, beauty products, home décor, and food items. MITA is dedicated to uplifting these businesses and promoting sustainable economic growth in the community. Manufacturers interested in benefiting from the program can join Merafong Informal Traders Association to access the opportunities and resources it offers.
